  • Visit Spelling Shed. I have added this challenge to Spelling Shed to look at words where the /air/ sound is spelled with the ear or are spelling. This objective is part of the Year 1 curriculum. Select play and a level of support. Easy will show you the word, you hear the word and just the letters you need are given to spell the word to Extreme when you hear the word and get the letters but some extra letters are given that you don't need!
  • Today we are looking at some Spelling Punctuation and Grammar questions. Complete the questions on the SPaG mat. Ask your grown-ups to mark your work when you have finished - the answers are attached.

  • Visit Spelling Shed- This week, I have added a challenge to Spelling Shed to practice some challenge words. These are a selection of trickier words with spellings we have already learnt. Can you spell the words? Remember to persevere and keep practising if they are tricky. Select play and a level of support. Easy will show you the word, you hear the word and just the letters you need are given to spell the word to Extreme when you hear the word and get the letters but some extra letters are given that you don't need! Focus!
  • This week, we will continue to focus on suffixes. Today we will focus on adding -er. Watch the video at https://youtu.be/lDmjvFOdxvY to help you understand how to add -er. Then see if you can answer the questions attached. Remember if the root word ends in y then change it to an i before adding the suffix. For example: happy-happier, funny-funnier, heavy-heavier etc If the root word ends in a single consonant with a short vowel then double the consonant. For example: wet-wetter, hot-hotter, big-bigger etc

  • Let’s watch the film La Luna again at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbuq7w3ZDUQ Now that know the story of La Luna well, we would like you to 'write it'. Think about the work you did last week on the character's thought and feelings. You can write the story on paper with some illustrations or type it up. Either way, send it to us so we can read what you've come up with.
  • Read 6 pages of your school book, a book you have at home or an e-book https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/
  • Let's practise our reading skills. Please read the text and answer the questions for ‘The best dress ever’. Use the template below to answer the questions. Ask your grown-ups to mark your work when you have finished - the answers are attached.
